• Data entry on thermal bridging has been amended to limit the use of user-defined y-values to
SAP 9.81 or 9.90 which are being upgraded to SAP 9.92 in order to lodge EPCs. User-defined
y-values are not acceptable for compliance with Part L 2013 (England) or Part L 2014 (Wales):
see Technical note 2014/03 for a more detailed explanation.
• Conversion of SAP 2009 to SAP 2012 no longer gives range check error if there is a heat pump
in the original dwelling. Users will still have to reset heat pump data because of incompatibilities
between SAP 2009 and SAP 2012 data.
• Input data worksheet now shows Htb not Hbt.
- SAP 2005 (9.81):
• Dwellings in Scotland with an assumed pressure test value of 10.00 will now take their status
(as built or as designed) from the Project Information dialogue.
- VE Import:
• There is now a choice to import either to SAP 2012 or to SAP 2009, to address different
requirements across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- U-value:
• The U-value report now shows units for point thermal transmittance as W/K instead of W/mK.
• The U-value report now shows the total thickness of the construction. This is an optional feature.
• The maximum number of blocks in a tapered layer is now 200.
• Thermal bridge proportions can now be set using defaults or direct proportions.
See Technical note 2014/03 for more details.

|
|
09 September 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 010 - main changes |
- U-values:
• Fixed issue where selecting thermal mass output on the print dialogue along with a
condensation prediction, it prints the thermal mass data across all of the graphs.
|
|
03 September 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 009 - main changes |
- SAP 2012:
• No longer possible to set numbers of showers/baths for WWHRS to negative numbers.
• Lodgement issue with FGHRS resolved.
• New facility in Project Manager Edit menu to convert SAP 9.92 calculations to SAP 9.90.
• New Flush button in the Calculate Htb dialogue. Clicking the button removes entries
for any junctions with zero length, i.e. redundant junctions.

|
31 July 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 005 - main changes |
- SAP 2012:
• Restriction on using solid fuel boilers with underfloor heating has been lifted.
The calculation now uses a responsiveness of 0.25 under concrete and 0.75 under screed.
• Import from IES VE software now uses VE 2014 and goes to SAP 2012.
• CSH improvement on ENE 7 will now show correctly. Previously it was occasionally missing.
- SAP 2009:
• The SAP 2009 compliance report no longer includes items from the SAP 2012 report that
were inadvertantly included.
- U-values:
• The product database no longer scrolls back to the category list once a product has been selected.
• Resolved issue where bridging in a layer beyond a well-vented cavity was causing the
resistance the layer to be included in the U-value calculation.
|
|
15 July 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 004 - main changes |
- SAP 2012:
• An oversized heat pump (that is, one where the PSR of the dwelling is larger than the final
PSR in the PCDF) can now be used. The program interpolates an efficiency following the
method in SAP 2102 appendix N2.
- U-values:
• The loft space in the pitched roof with horizontal ceiling element is now heat in/heat out
for Australia.
- Psi-value assistant:
• Data from linked U-value calculations are read to three decimal places.
|
|
11 July 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 003 - main changes |
- U-values:
• Fixes a minor bug with the Australian database.
|
|
11 July 2014: Version 6.01a1 Build 002 - main changes |
- General:
• A new splash screen on launch showing options for creating new calculations or
opening existing ones.
- SAP 2012:
• Range check errors generated by using heat pumps from the PCDF have been resolved.
• The benefit of discounted negative emissions associated with biofuel CHP in the zero
carbon homes calculationis now correctly added at box ZC5.
• There is a new selection dialogue for Ru values for elements adjoining unheated spaces:
manual entry of Ru values is still permitted.
• Solar thermal: identification letters corresponding to the performance standards have been
added to text by input boxes, making it easier to correlate data entry with manufacturer’s
data sheets.
- U-values:
• There is now a separate database for products for U-value calculations in Australia.
• For Australia the element type ‘pitched roof horizontal ceiling’ does not have an automatic
loft space and does not adjust for layers on the slope.
• The point thermal transmittance for mechanical fasteners now shows correctly on the first
page of the U-value report.
